EXTRA CREDIT INCENTIVE for students enrolled in high school English courses in 2012-2013: Students enrolled in AP and IB English, Honors English I-IV, English I-IV CP, English Elective A, or English Elective B may earn extra credit by reading one text of the student’s choosing (fiction or nonfiction).
Texts selected by students to be read as part of the 2012 High School Summer Reading Initiative should adhere to the following parameters:
- Guidance for selection of text based on reading levels, Lexile, appropriateness, student interest, and suitability should be provided by teachers and media specialists.
- Parent approval of selected text is requested for extra credit to be earned.
- Students may not complete initiative extra credit assessments on texts that were used in previous courses.
