Dear Socastee High School Staff, Students, and Families,

It is with great excitement and sincere gratitude that I introduce myself as the next principal of Socastee High School. I am truly honored to join such an exceptional school community and grateful for the opportunity to serve the Braves as we continue building upon the strong tradition of excellence that defines Socastee High School.

Although many of you know me from my time as principal of Socastee Elementary School, my career in education has been rooted in high school. I began my journey as a high school teacher, where I discovered my passion for helping students grow academically, personally, and as future leaders. I also had the privilege of serving as a three-season varsity head coach, experiences that reinforced the importance of teamwork, perseverance, accountability, and building relationships that extend far beyond the classroom.

As my career progressed, my roles included serving as a high school instructional coach, where I was able to focus specifically on supporting teachers, strengthening instructional practices, analyzing student achievement data, and fostering collaborative professional learning to improve outcomes for all students. For the past ten years, I have had the incredible honor of serving as assistant principal and principal of Socastee Elementary School. During that time, I have worked with an extraordinary team of educators, students, and families to build a school culture centered on excellence, high expectations, and meaningful relationships. Those years have been among the most rewarding of my career, and I will always be grateful for the opportunity to serve the Socastee Elementary community.

What makes this opportunity especially meaningful is that it allows me to bring together every chapter of my professional journey while continuing to serve a community that has become home. I have watched many of our elementary students grow into confident young people, and it is incredibly rewarding to know that I will now have the opportunity to welcome them back as high school students. Continuing to support their educational journey is both a privilege and a responsibility that I embrace wholeheartedly.

As your principal, my commitment is simple: to put students at the center of every decision we make. I believe that the strongest schools are built through trust, collaboration, and a shared commitment to excellence. Together, we will continue creating an environment where every student feels challenged, supported, valued, and prepared for success after graduation.

Socastee High School has a proud tradition of academic excellence, championship athletics, outstanding fine arts, and a community that rallies behind its students. I have tremendous respect for the work that has already been accomplished, and I look forward to partnering with our talented faculty, dedicated staff, supportive families, and incredible students to build upon those successes. While honoring the traditions that make Socastee special, I also believe there are exciting opportunities ahead as we continue striving to provide the very best educational experience for every student.

Transitions naturally bring both excitement and anticipation, and I look forward to spending my first months listening, learning, and building relationships across our school community. I firmly believe the best schools are those where everyone has a voice, and I value the perspectives and experiences that each member of the Socastee High family brings to our shared mission.
